Hampton by Hilton Edinburgh West End
This hotel is at the very top of our list because of the beds are ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY! We got the best night’s sleep in a long time when we stayed here, possibly because the mattresses had only been changed a couple years back. The breakfast is delightful and you can make your own waffles, too! The cleanliness is exceptional!
The only (perhaps) downside to it is that it’s not right in the city centre, but around 30 minutes by walk away. The bus stop is right outside the hotel though if you do not fancy walking. We didn’t mind walking though – we do most of our cardio when we’re abroad! We got a deal when we stayed here – it was only £42 for one night when we stayed here, including breakfast. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended and we’d love to stay here again!
Adagio Aparthotel Edinburgh Royal Mile
Excellent location, clean, and equipped with a kitchenette too, so if you do not wish to spend much on food, this aparthotel has got that sorted for you. Prices are reasonable, considering the location. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the city.
Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh City Centre
This hotel is highly rated for its perfect location, right on the Royal Mile. It also has an excellent breakfast and the beds are comfortable, too. Room attendees kindly removed the topper for us when we asked because we prefer a slightly harder mattress. The room was very clean and the staff kind and helpful. Compared to other hotels, this one was slightly on the expensive side – we did splurge a bit to stay here, but we do not regret it at all because it was a positive experience. ibis Styles Edinburgh Centre St. Andrew’s Square
Rated 3 stars, this hotel room has really comfortable beds! It’s also exceptionally clean and is equipped with all the necessities. If you’re planning on doing a spot (or ton) of shopping, this hotel’s location is perfect as it’s just a stone’s throw away from the shopping street. It’s still in a quiet area though – you’ll have no trouble falling asleep right away after all that shopping!
The breakfast is Continental – we don’t fancy it that much from anywhere; we much prefer the English breakfast. But you can opt to pay for bed only, of course. We were also offered tea or coffee from the machine upon check-in. It sure was a warm welcome after the biting cold outside! we’d definitely stay here again if we returned.
Arran House – Campus Accommodation
This one is the most budget-friendly accommodation you can go for. It is about 30 minutes by walk from the city centre, and there is also a bus service very close to the residence. The room we stayed in has a private bathroom and the kitchenette is shared with another three rooms. It has all the basics.
Unfortunately, we suffer from severe back problems and the only reason why this did not work out for us is because of this – the mattress is thin. If you are the kind of person who manages to fall asleep anywhere, then go for it, we’re sure it’s much better than a hostel. But if you’re a fussy sleeper like us, then you will have to settle for the more expensive options.
